Astrological Grit

blair-boginThis lecture offers insight on how to be in relationship with the planets during rough patches. A breakup, a bad job interview, a major loss, the world ending or a stubbed toe…your chart is a badass that longs to bounce back. Aside from our unwavering friend Saturn, what does a resilient chart look and feel like ? We will consider each planet from a mind-body coaching perspective, seeing how each archetype can be a resource in times of tough luck.

Blair Bogin is an artist, astrologer and teacher. Aside from consultations, workshops and lectures, she translates planetary alignments into improv comedy, community theater, video art and moving image horoscopes. Blair earned her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and spent many years immersed in physical theater clown school. She’s been going steady with the planets for over 13 years and works closely with fellow artists, empaths, activists, wild ones and weirdos as an astrological coach.

Exploring your Inner Guru: Jupiter in Gemini

cassandra-buttlerAstrology’s blueprint for each of us is individualistic and profound. Jupiter is the key planet in guiding us to truth, positivity, and abundance. Understanding how to work with your personal Jupiter can assist you in achieving your goals which reflect your deepest truth. The planet Jupiter can be in any one of twelve signs defined by four elements. These wisdom tools reflect the four elements; air (mental); fire (visual); water (emotional); and earth (physical). Each of the twelve ways of accessing inner wisdom will be illuminated. You will learn how to access your inner wisdom, or Jupiter, using meditative tools. As Jupiter is now the sign of Gemini, it’s more important than ever to discern how to tap into one’s own guidance, as we turn down the outside chatter around us. This workshop will combine information sharing about your personal Jupiter, plus an experiential journey to access the inner guru within.

Secondary Progressions: The Acorn and the Oak Tree

Secondary Progressions do not make us something other than what we were born to be. On the contrary, they make us more of who we were always meant to be, more of who we are! Secondary Progressions are the unfolding of the natal potential, not the shifting gears away from the chart. They describe the growth that we are really “ready” for. Often misunderstood or misused, learn how to use them accurately in prediction and counseling with transits and eclipses. Simple, easy-to-use examples will be presented.

Professional full-time astrologer since 1976. NCGR-PAA fully certified as a Consulting Astrologer and designed its mentoring program. Frequent speaker at UAC, NCGR National and local conferences. Electing Wedding Dates that Work

april-elliot-kentIn the early 2000s, I accidentally became a wedding date specialist, putting myself through college by electing astrologically fortuitous wedding dates for frazzled couples. It was a a niche that filled up my appointment calendar for about 14 years, until I realized I had started fantasizing about choosing divorce dates instead. But folks are still getting married, and they can benefit from having an astrologer (you?) choose a good date for the wedding. In this presentation, I share the philosophy, research, and practical techniques that I used to choose hundreds of wedding dates – with (happily) very little repeat business.

April Elliott Kent is a professional astrologer and author living in San Diego, California. She is the author of Astrological Transits (Fair Winds Press, 2015), The Essential Guide to Practical Astrology (Alpha/Penguin 2011), and Star Guide to Weddings (Llewellyn 2008). Her astrological writing has also appeared in The Mountain Astrologer and Dell Horoscope magazines and in Llewellyn’s Sun Sign, Moon Sign, and Sabbats annuals. A popular lecturer, April served on the faculty of UAC 2012 and 2018, SOTA 2016, ISAR 2016, Beyond the Borders 2020, and Making of the One Thing 2018 (New Zealand). April is past president of the San Diego Astrological Society and served on the AFAN Steering Committee, and is a member of ISAR, NCGR, AFAN, and OPA.

Waiting for the Right Sign

lee-lehmanNo, you don’t get to redo your birth chart, but you can affect your experience of a time period by understanding that you have the ability to change your experience of events according to the sign placements of the planets you use to create the future that you want. This is an alternate way to think about electional, transits, progressions and returns, or any dynamic method. So, you are not just a few adjectives that describe a situation. You can dig deep and find a lot of properties you can use to pick the signs of the faster planets (as well as slower planets when they are about to change signs). We will examine the greater structures within the signs that can unlock additional interpretations that may help you to plan.

Lee has a Ph.D. from Rutgers University. She has written eleven books, on horary, electional, mundane, medical, and solar returns. She is the Principal of the Medical Program at the School of Traditional Astrology.
In addition, she teaches at Kepler College, where she used to be Academic Dean in the degree-granting era. Lee had received the Marc Edmund Jones Award, and the Regulus Award.

Interceptions in the Natal Chart

melanie-joyOne of the main reasons Melanie has stuck with a quadrant-based house system for years is the important insights that can be gleamed from intercepted houses and planets. Venus in Capricorn & the Complex Commodity of Sex

mallory-hastyWhat could an 19th century Russian mystic and a modern-day global pop star have in common? Perhaps some of the most compelling Venus-in-Capricorn significations to be chronicled. Sex is a complex commodity for both Spears & Rasputin. Whether it be a means to be controlled or to control—the expression of sexuality is a way to leverage power. Let’s examine how Britney’s won conservatorship battle with her father and postlawsuit hyper display of sensuality acts as a reclamation tool for her own sacred autonomy. We will also probe at the rumored sex cults of Rasputin—and how these secret orgies may have catalyzed his powers over Nicholas II, the Last Emperor of Russia.

Mallory Hasty is a consulting astrologer, tarot teacher, and world traveler. With their degree in English-Writing & Religious Studies, their knowledge of poetry, literature, and religion often makes its way into their healing work, as well as her teachings and classes.
