Brandon Hansen: Royal Configurations – Does Your Planet Wear a Crown?

FROM OPA’s MONTHLY SPEAKER SERIES – RECORDED JUNE 28 2026
With a background in musical theater, Brandon loves to think of the chart as a play, and in this talk he describes the methods for determining whether a planetary actor “wears a crown”, or is cast as royalty. A few different techniques are discussed and integrated together including dignity and angularity, depositorship-chains, royal-stars & their Lunar Mansions, and the famous Raj-Yoga of Vedic Astrology.

Brandon Hansen is a native and resident of the Southwest United States, having grown up in Phoenix, and lived in Salt Lake, Las Vegas, & Los Angeles. He is the inventor and designer of the Annuli, and is grateful to have two dream jobs, being both an Aerialist & an Astronomist.

Brandon shines as a new star in the constellation of staff at Kepler College, as the teacher of Astronomy for Astrologers, and Vice-President of Membership for Kepler’s Astrologer Toastmaster’s club (click the link to join a meeting as a guest!). He is the recent winner of the 2025 Kepler Toastmasters Showcase, and has delivered presentations for several organizations and conferences, including Astromagia, and the Sedona Astrology Club.

While grounded in March 2020, Brandon learned an alternative way to fly. During next several months of quarantine in LA, he studied astrological circle charts. As he become aware of the scientific merit presented by these digital maps of the sky, he felt deeply that a more tangible expression was necessary for others to also see their true value. With an aesthetic eye, Brandon not only invented a tool for displaying celestial configurations, but elevated them to the level of sculpture, creating truly good and beautiful works of art. These are the Annuli.
