Fixed stars have a significant influence on natal and horary charts, especially when they are connected to key points such as the Ascendant, Midheaven (MC), or personal planets. By exploring their influence and the myths surrounding them, we can uncover deeper meanings in both natal and horary readings. In this talk, we will review some of the prominent fixed stars, and general techniques for incorporating their meaning into our readings, as illustrated by the case studies.

Elena Lumen, PhD is a traditional astrologer, counselor, and astrology instructor. She is a faculty member at the International Academy of Astrology and the principle of her school, Lumen School of Classical Astrology, where she teaches horary, predictive, and electional astrology. Dr Lumen frequently presents at various astrological organizations worldwide. In addition to teaching and consulting clients, she hosts multiple astrology practice groups. In 2011, she defended her dissertation on the value and appeal of astrology as a system of meaning at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in California. The results of her research were published in the NCGR and ISAR magazines. Her current research focuses on mental health issues in nativities, and works of Persian and Arabic astrologers.
